From my understanding, one of the main complaints from high school students across the US is "Why did school teach me that the mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell, but not important things like how to pay taxes?" I do not like hearing such comments because they are unoriginal and boring. As a result, I've created a program to educate teenagers on basic financial literacy components; both in and out of a classroom setting.

The end goal of the curriculum is to cover the following:

  1. Budgeting
  2. Interest
  3. Savings
  4. Credit/debit cycle traps
  5. Basic personal taxes

Resources for learning/teaching said subjects include a downloadable slideshow, a set of notes to go with the slideshow, and for the casual viewer, some basic explanations. All resources are available on their respective pages. Everything is completely free of charge.
